I have to speculate as to how much of the Bible has been altered to fit the "proven" facts that science has brought forth. The reason I question this is that I seem to remember (long ago - as a teen) something about the Biblical accounts about the world being round as having been changed after the discovery that the world was, indeed, round. I know that there was a Greek philosopher (I can't remember which one - possibly Socrates) that was imprisoned for saying that the world was round. Perhaps it was one of the astronomers? Sheesh, I'm babbling...
You tell me to read Revelations (which I have) to see the prophecy of the future. Revelations is COMPLETELY unclear as to when this prophesy is supposed to come to fruition. If that's the best that the Bible can offer me on prophecy, I suppose I'll have to wait for Armageddon before I can believe it...
