At one time yes; but not anymore since what is happening on earth today bears to much resemblence to Biblical prophecy.
If I wrote down on a piece of paper 10 things that will happen over the next 1000 years 10 to 1 we will find them come to pass when we look back on it.

That might be true but what if all 10 happened within a given framework? Israel is again a sovereign nation, the old Roman Empire is rising from it ashes, rebuilding the Temple in Jerusalem is in the works, modern plagues are ravishing mankind, and etc. All the prophecies concerning the second coming are being fulfilled in our time; so like I posted time will tell and the time is short.
