Science, Creation & EvolutionNon young creation astronomy failed First I did not post that I agreed with the position some Christians (including some Christian scientists with impeccable credentials) take on Genesis 1:2 and following being an account of a recreation. Second, I am well aware of what constitutes good Biblical exegesis and I am also aware Scripture does not tell us when angels were created or when Satan rebelled. Therefore a lot of what some creationists believe is Biblically based is founded on assumptions. Third, this is not a college course in debating or logic and when posters appeal to debating (logic) strategies and tactics I wonder about their motives. This is a Christian message board that is open to the discussion of diverse opinions on many issues including evolution and science and is open to all people regardless of their faith or lack thereof. You see Christianonnet I have dealt with your kind before on both sides of this debate and have come to the conclusion that Christians should be the ones who are the most credible with their "proofs". One of your sources for statistics is questionable and that source is religioustolerance.org. Many gay activists and gay supporters love this site since it backs their pro-gay bias and is so far off the wall in who they quote it is ludicrous. For instance in your quote from religioustolerance.org conerning the percentages of scientists who are creationists and theistic evolutionists you apparently did not read the source of the stats (a Gallup poll) and the disclaimer following the chart: You posted this from the Harvard Political Review: Intelligent Design is not a "theory" it is a "method" of evaluating and understanding the latest scientific discoveries just as evolutionary biology is a method of evaluating and understanding the "origin of species" based on assumptions made concerning the fossil record only evolutionary biology is considered a science because it includes the word "biology". Do you know an expert in gravitational theory? Since this is actually a sub specialty of physics I can answer yes. I have a cousin with a Ph.D. in physics from Harvard who works for NASA. |
