Science, Creation & EvolutionNon young creation astronomy failedTO: Aineo
I say evolutionist would be engage in special pleading because I believe they often appeal to scientific community consensus and cite experts. Why should creationist not be allowed to cite experts or the scientific community consensus via quotes which I believe scholars use all the time. Now have certain creationist used out of context quotes. Yes, and I suspect evolutionist have done the same. But does that mean that all creationist necessarily do so? I don't think the evolutionist can claim such a thing. Also, part of the evidence for Christianity is the social science of history. If we do not use quotes of quotes then one could never quote Jesus as quoted by gospel writers Matthew or John. Again, I think this would be unreasonable since there is excellent historical evidence that Jesus did speak the thoughts recorded by Matthew or John (see: historical evidence at: http://www.home.earthlink.net/~gbl111/historical.htm ). Also, I certainly do not see a link provided to all publicly available source material (libraries etc. ) in all topics of debate outside the creation/evolution debate. If someone can show me that all scholars or other thoughtful individuals do this I would be surprised. Sometimes it requires a subscription or membership to access this information and I see it as requiring special effort that is unecessary. I see no reason to cater and mollycoddle unreasonable acting individuals. Lastly, I think that when evolutionist engage in special pleading and try to exclude quotes (or quotes of quotes) they are acting unethically and unreasonably and trying to exclude pertinent evidence. Regarding the unreasonableness I cite:
