ArchivedOnce saved always saved?Your paraphrase is self-serving since you have changed what is written to accommodate your doctrine. Being “convinced of better things concerning you” is not a rhetorical response to a rhetorical question since a rhetorical question goes unanswered, for instance when Paul writes you don’t all speak in tongues do you? What you have posted is also true of OSAS, which is a doctrine developed by Calvin without any direct Biblical evidence that OSAS is truth. In fact both Jesus and Paul teach against the concept when they both teach that in the end times some will fall away from the faith. I was raised in a church that believed OSAS and after years of study have rejected this concept as a doctrine of men. Now you are not going to change my mind and I am not going to change yours. But I will take the Holy Spirit as the final authority not the personal interpretations of selected verses used by Calvin. Predestination is never applied to the lost. Since God is no respecter of persons and does not will that any man should be lost Calvin's teachings contradict the Holy Spirit. |
