Archivedpredestination questionsBut he did write that God endures with longsuffering the vessels that were formed for destruction. This implies two things to me: 1) God, through His foreknowledge/predestination, has formed these vessels for destruction in order to bring glory to Himself. Thus, predestination is confirmed in this verse. and 2) The fact that God has chosen to endure these vessels means that He knows what they were going to do before they did it, but that He did not take away their free will to chose what they chose. If He did take away free will, then why would He have to endure? So, free will is confirmed in this verse. As I said, predestination and free will can coexist. Bwahahahahahahaha!!! Why don't you just say what you mean, Aineo? "We can address OSAS again if you are willing to agree with me." There's only two camps in this debate: the one that believes apostates are saved and upon committing apostacy they lose their salvation, and the one that believes Christians cannot commit apostacy therefore anyone who commits apostacy must not be saved. In saying what you've said above, you have eliminated one side of a debate that only has two sides. That doesn't make for much of a debate. I'm willing to debate the issue - you from your side, and me from mine. You appear to be unwilling, as evidence by this statement and your previous threats to close all OSAS threads. Incidentally, this is the reason I found your desicion to close threads laughable. Which Scripture is that? As I said, I have replied to your claim that 2 Peter 3:9 disproves predestination of the damned. I have not seen where you have posted any Scripture in response to my reply.
Interesting that you would say that when just in the same post you say: Hmmm...... So you're saying that Pharaoh had the free will to harden his own heart? Great! I agree. I've never said that people don't have free will. I don't know why you are insisting on forcing that belief on me. One other thing that I don't understand is how a God who is unwilling that any should perish (as you understand it) could willfully harden a man's heart in opposition to Himself. I have no problem with these two ideas, but they would seem to contradict from your point of view. Please explain these for me. |
