Muslim & Christian Discussion ForumPlease try and convince me otherwise. :: replyreply Now that I think about it, I totally understand how because Moses killed women and children, and then took little girls for himself after he killed their loved ones. He also killed old people, and burned cities to the ground. Since Prophet Mohammed (sa) did not level up to Moses in killing and raping, its really not fair to put them in the same league. I don't even think Osama Bin Laden and September 11 can compare to the buildings, crops, and cities Moses burned down; but do you really think its Moses's fault though? I mean it was your God who commanded Moses to do the things that he did: This is the statute of the law which the LORD (Jesus) has commanded Moses (Numbers 31:21) you shall save alive nothing that breathes, but you shall utterly destroy them, the Hittites and the Amorites, the Canaanites and the Per'izzites, the Hivites and the Jeb'usites, as the LORD your God has commanded (Deuteronomy 20:12-17) "If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19) Moses only did all that mass-murder to "please his Lord", whom you alleged is Jesus .... The only thing thats really insulting is putting Jesus in as the position of God ...... but then again, I guess I understand how Muhammad, due to his lack of killing women and children, could not be put in the same category as Moses, and the God that commanded him (Jesus). So I guess that makes your God worse than Muhammad (sa), not just worse, but far worse for commanding much more mass-murder, and far more severe destruction than Muhammad ever carried out .... Don't give me time period, your God did what he did ... And yes, your God will continue to show his love and compassion for all of mankind when he is going to torture and burn people in hell for eternity. Why? Because they didn't worship Jesus's death on the cross. What a graceful and loving God My point exactly ....My only question was do you think they are absolutly acceptable in your eyes? You don't know anything about Islam then .... There is no taking a verse out of context, you have to put it in context with the entirety of the Message. Oooh Wow! You being born in the Middle East means nothing. I was born in Christianity, does it mean I know your faith better than you? Maybe it does Jesus is your God who was "before Abraham", and is the same God you believe commanded all of the atrocities and mass-murder, all for his own pleasure ... see the above quoted verse .... Christiantiy follows a canonized Greek book of interpretations, epistles written by Paul, and ideology whose roots come from the pagan Roman Catholic Church ..... The Christ you know is a canonized Christ. The Gospels that did not agree with Rome's agenda and beliefs, they discarded .... Tell me this, would Jesus have done the Crusades? Would he have blown up abortion clinics? Would he have molested little boys? Would he have beaten homosexuals half to death? Would Jesus have invaded Iraq and killed thousands of women and children? Or maybe its not right to stereotype and assume that over 1 billion Christians would lower themselves to such behavior? Maybe the media is obsessed and wants to show the same type of radical Muslim on tv, a few hundred of them out of a billion, that are brainwashed into a political and emotional hatred? They don't want to show all of the great things the Muslim community has done in service to humanity - for Muslims and non-Muslims alike, why? Because its not news worthy ..... Did you know that my local Muslim Community spent thousands of dollars to feed the homeless in Washington D.C.? Did you know that they spent thousands of dollars in relief efforts for the Tsunami? Did you know that they spend thousands of dollars to feed and cloth the poor and hungry in Africa? Did you hear all the times when my cleric yelled on top of his lungs to show his anger, frustration and condemnation of terrorism? Did you hear about the ISNA convention in Chicago, where over 30 thousand Muslims gathered, and all of the Muslim clerics condemned the actors and actions of terrorism? Did you know that the Fiqh Council of North America, released a fatwah calling terrorists far from martyrdom, and calling them criminals, and condemning all acts of terrorism? Nope, you didn't, but I did. God commanded Moses to rape. God commaded Moses to take 3 years old and older girls for himself after he killed their loved ones. God commanded Moses to kill women, children, and old people. But your God is not a pedophile is he? Your God is not a mass-murderer is he? You God is not a terrorist is he? How convenient ..... I challenge any Christian in this forum to prove to me that Mohammed or any Muslim in history did more killing and burning, and raping than Moses, as commanded by his God, Jesus, in the OT. Anyhow, maybe your forgetting about all of the positive things Prophet Mohammed did? Maybe I should go over them for you? In the period of jahiliyya (ignorance), Arabia indulged itself in all forms of idolotry ... not just worship of graven images and false gods, but they glorified and lived their lived in acts of immorality, using and abusing women, using and abusing slaves, burying infant girls alive due to disgust of not having a male offspring, spending their pastime in drunkeness, lust, greed. They were un-civilized barbarians. But yet, they were the children of the blessed patriarchs of our faith, Abraham and Ishmael. The nation that was allegedly blessed by God. It took a man to witness all of this corruption, a innocent-minded man, a virtuous man, a truthful man. Upon witnessing his people do these horrible things and live these immoral lives, all he could go is meditate in a cave. Meditate and pray, and seek some sort of divine intervention. All he could do it hope. He meditated regularly for the betterment of his people, when God revealed Himself, and told him to READ (eventually IQRA-RECITE-READ, unto the masses of Arabia), in the name of the Lord who created man .... Eventually, Mohammed brought Arabia from worshipping idols, and their barbaric lives, to worshiping the one true God, the God of Abraham, and Ishmael, and from worshiping their desires, to living in complete virtue and taqwah - righteousness. What the Arabs responded to the most was the Quran and the mu'jiza (miracle) of the Quran. The eloquency of the Arabic language, and how it had reached its pinicle of eloquency, and poets at the time could scruitinize the work and rhetoric of another poet, and improve on the eloquency; however when the Quran was revealed, just the eloquency of the words literally amazed and overwhelmed the people at the time. Not only was the language and eloquency of the Quranic verses mind-boggling, but the depth of information contained within every verse just as astonishing .... so the Arabs what they responded to was the Quran and the mu'jiza of the Quran. But the non-Arabs could not understand basic Arabic, let alone the complex poetry and eloquency of the Quran. So how did the Persians, and Africans, and Romans, and Kurds, and Indonesians, and Indians, how did they come to Islam? What they responded to was in fact the Prophet (sa)! This is why you will find a profound love for the Prophet (sa) in far-eastern countries like Pakistan and India. This is why you see Indo-Paks sending so much darood on the Prophet, trying to follow his sunnah so closely. Arabia was known to have been extremely corrupt in the period of jahiliyya (ignorance). As I said, people would bury daughters, use abuse women, use abuse slaves, the whole nine yards. So anyways, since Arabia was huge in the trading markets, merchants from around the globe, especially Africa and Persia, and Yemen would come and buy from Makkah and other cities in Arabia. When Islam was established in Arabia, it is said that you could not find a drop of alcohol in the cities. Slaves became freed abudantly. Woman were free of male-oppression and sex-slavery. The entire environment literally changed. So the ikhlaaq (character) of the Prophet (sa) which had entered into the life of every Muslim, was such a huge turn around, for merchants and buyers to come to Arabia and see this 360 degree turn-around, they were amazed. When it was asked, what caused this immense turn around in the Arabian peninsula (this is what the non-Arabs asked), and they found out that a man named Mohammed (sa) brought this imense turn-around, they asked what did he do? What message did he bring that has caused this imense turn-around? They were very curious, as anyone would be, seeing a society change from complete anarchy and immorality to discipline, and virtue. And the companions and salaf smiled and eagerly told the merchants responding to the curiousity: "His message is La illaha illulah - There is no god save THE GOD." The masses of the non-Arab world embraced Islam. But it was the embodiment of the Muslims, who followed the sunnah of the Prophet (sa), and implemented His ikhlaaq, that was narrated from city to city, town to town, desert to desert, in the form of Ahadith (narration), and in the form of ikhlaq (character) that brought Arabia and beyond to Islam. So are you telling me that Mohammed, by telling the people to abandon having 20-30 women, and telling them to abandon drinking, and telling them to abandon all types of immoral and corrupt behavior, and by telling them to worship one God, and by telling them that satan is your open enemy, and bringing these people out from the culture and society they lived in into complete discipline, is all false? I'm not ready to believe it .... More proof that Islam teaches against terrorism: The Quran, Islams revealed text, states: "Whoever kills a person (unjustly) it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind." (Quran, 5:32) Prophet Muhammad said there is no excuse for committing unjust acts: "Do not be people without minds of your own, saying that if others treat you well you will treat them well, and that if they do wrong you will do wrong to them. Instead, accustom yourselves to do good if people do good and not to do wrong (even) if they do evil." (Al-Tirmidhi) God mandates moderation in faith and in all aspects of life when He states in the Quran: We made you to be a community of the middle way, so that (with the example of your lives) you might bear witness to the truth before all mankind. (Quran, 2:143) In another verse, God explains our duties as human beings when he says: Let there arise from among you a band of people who invite to righteousness, and enjoin good and forbid evil. (Quran, 3:104) And finally: And when it is said to them, 'Create not disorder in the earth,' they say, 'We are only promoters of peace.' Beware! it is surely they who create disorder, but they do not perceive it. (2:12-13). In the above verse, Allah warns us to beware of people like Osama Bin Laden, and stick to the commandment of God, ie. "Create not disorder in the earth" ..... peace be on those who follow guidance from their Lord, SubmitTo1God |
