Religious Cults & False Prophets~ Discussions and DebatesIs not this more than just personal relationship ?Aineo wrote:arunangelo wrote:Aineo wrote:Jesus and Paul warned us that false teachers would come and deceive many and those churches that believe in an apostolic succession are among the first of those false teachers.
John 6:51 was not Jesus' last words on the Lords Supper. Catholicism is great at pulling various Scriptures out of context to justify its heretical teachings of which transubstantiation is only one.
God does not change and one practice God prohibited in the OT the NT is the eating of blood. Peter (your first Pope) was a participant at the Council of Jerusalem where the church under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit prohibited eating blood so to teach the apostles believed and taught transubstantiation is ludicrous and a lie.
The body and blood in the Eucharist is in the form of real human food-bread and wine. Jesus therefore, said," the bread that I will give you is my flesh. If God can take the form of a human with real human flesh and blood, then His human flesh and blood can take the form of bread and wine.
So far arunangelo, you like all Roman Catholics simply dance around the simple fact that God calls eating blood an abomination and those who practice abominations are judged to an eternity in the lake of fire. John 6:35-40
35 Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. 36 "But I said to you, that you have seen Me, and yet do not believe. 37 "All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. 38 "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. 40 "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him, may have eternal life; and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." NAS
John 6:66-71
66 As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew, and were not walking with Him anymore. 67 Jesus said therefore to the twelve, "You do not want to go away also, do you?" 68 Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. 69 "And we have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God." 70 Jesus answered them, "Did I Myself not choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil?" 71 Now He meant Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray Him. NAS
I guess one needs faith to trust Jesus, when He took the bread, gave it to them and said, "this is my body".
