Symbolism
Dear Anieo, I don't think many get the obscure symbolism of the space trilogy. One would have to be very versed in the obscure conflicts of his day, H.G. Wells, J.B.S. Haldane, etc
As for Children saying that it was just fantasy, well what does that mean? It means they do not want adults to get worried. But the symbolism of Rowling is very accessable.
I am most impressed by the number of adult fans. Perhaps many of them are like Dads who buy trainsets for their kids to play with, but the poor kids never get a look in since Dad monopolises then. There is some guilt in being enthralled with "Kids" books so they pretend that they are just doing it for the kids. But the number of Adults who are seriosuly into witchcraft is considerable and much underestimated.
All this so called "Environmentalism" is really witchcraft in disguise. Keith
