Psa 51:
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.
18 By Your favor do good to Zion; Build the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then You will delight in righteous sacrifices, in burnt offering and whole burnt offering; then young bulls will be offered on Your altar.
Jews today say that God moved away from the OT burnt offering sacrifices and replaced them with sacrifices of a broken spirit and a broken and contrite heart. Psalms 51:1-19 completely refutes this belief. In the OT one first came to God with a broken spirit and a broken and a contrite heart, then God delighted in the righteous burnt offering sacrifices they offered.
What God despised were those who offered burnt offering sacrifices with unbroken spirits and unrepentant hearts. Repentance is still the first word in the Gospel of Christ (Acts 2:38).
