Vote on a pollWhat is atheism?I do see what you're saying yes and in a way I can kind of agree with you. Most atheists will believe that the source of their moral judgement comes from within themselves, part of the hard wiring of their own brains, the super-ego or what have you. We all believe it is wrong to defy the system (a law or what have you). In most cases at least. I, as an atheist, would say that the reason for this is because over the course of evolution our brains have developed in this manor to prevent our ecology from breaking down. Atheists don't believe in any external divine influence, or mysterious unknown force we believe that the reasons (like the rest of our psyche) amounts to nothing more than the biological working of our own brains - even if we do not know yet what those are, the brain is endlessly complex after all. We are a social animal. Wolves, another social animal, do not defy the laws of a Pack for the same reasons (according to us at least). |
