Science, Creation & EvolutionAge of the EarthAh such a nice Christian response. Since you cannot respond with logic you respond with vituperation. I really don't think you are in position to call someone else's comments moronic. I was merely pointing out to you how you could determine for yourself the difference in strength between wood and steel. I don't know much about shipbuilding but I do know a bit about wood and steel. Large wooden structures require much more bracing than steel structures to maintain rigidity. Given that your notion of Noah's Flood almost certainly requires extreme turbulence and given that even a moderately flexible large wooden boat would soon take on water and sink in such turbulence regardless of its shape, we may safely require that the Ark be built to be quite rigid even in the middle of turbulence. This requires a large amount of internal bracing, so much so that one wonders how Noah could have made space to carry his family and a large number of animals in it. And you are off topic. This thread concerns the age of the earth, not how seaworthy a huge wooden barge would be. Off topic again. If you want to discuss micro and macroevolution, start a new thread. It appears to be a common failing among creationists that when unable to back up their claims, their pride will not allow them to admit it. Instead, they try to divert attention from their inability to back up their claims by attacking the person insisting they do so. That being the case, I take it your ad hominem attack on me above equates to an admission you: 1. Cannot find any credible support for Barry Setterfield's claim's of a rapidly declining speed of light in the vacuum of space. 2. Cannot find "...many reasonable explanations for tracks in multiple layers of sediment than an old age for the earth." 3. Cannot provide us with the names of scientists who "...opine that the earch has shifted it axisis more than once..." Looks to me like you might have a serious credibility problem here. Perhaps you ought to ask yourself what Jesus would do if he found himself in your predicament. Doc |
