ArchivedAPOSTASY - Sun Worship In The ChurchThe Hebrew month Abib was changed to the month Nisan after the Babylonian captivity. If my use of the current name bothers you then think Abib when I post Nisan.
The “dawn” of civilization is when the “light” of a civilization begins. Now, you can appeal to semantics in an attempt to obfuscate this discussion but the fact remains that when used for the period just before sunrise “dawn” does not mean twilight. Jesus was resurrected the 1st day of the week.
What is interesting about your defense that Jesus was crucified at noon after the Passover Seder is that John disagrees with you and the tradition developed by Catholic/Orthodox church councils and mandated by Constantine. So who is wrong, John or your traditional belief?
As to “bread”, I showed you that the word “arton” is used in all the Biblical accounts of the Lord’s Supper. “Arton” is leavened bread. Therefore either the Gospel’s are incorrect or again your tradition is incorrect. I choose to believe what the Holy Spirit inspired through Matthew, Mark, Luke, and Paul. Yashuah instituted the Lord’s Supper before the Passover Seder or the bread used at the Passover Seder was not unleavened bread.
I have not changed the appointed times and laws, which were given to the Sons of Israel, the Council of Jerusalem exempted gentile believers from observing the times and the laws in Acts 15. Therefore, I will once again ask you if Acts 15 is Scripture.
Your appeal to Mark 10 is odd in that Yashuah brought up 6 of the 10 commandments. Is it your position that only 6 of the commandments are still valid, what about the other 4, which just happen to be the first 4? Romans 13:8-10
Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not bear false witness," "You shall not covet," and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
NKJV
Galatians 5:14-15
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 15 But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
NKJV
James 2:8-13
8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you do well; 9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For He who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "Do not murder." Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty. 13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
NKJV
Now, as to your rationalization of Acts 15, James makes a distinction between Jewish believers who hear Moses being read in the synagogues every Sabbath and gentiles who were not allowed to worship in the synagogues on the Sabbath. You are also ignoring that it was the Holy Spirit who lead the apostles and the ekklesia to exempt gentiles from keeping the times and the law.
There is something else you are ignoring. Matthew 10:5-6
These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: "Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
NKJV
Matthew 15:24
24 But He answered and said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
NKJV
The Jews had to reject their Messiah before the Gospel of the Kingdom of God could be taken to the gentiles.
Your appeal to James is ludicrous as James addressed good works not works of the Law. Works without faith do not benefit anyone and faith that is not expressed in works is dead.
What you are advocating is works of the Law, which Paul strongly addresses in Romans and Galatians: Romans 3:27-31
Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. 29 Or is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, 30 since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.
NKJV
Romans 9:30-33
What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith; 31 but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone. 33 As it is written:
"Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense,
And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame."
NKJV
Galatians 2:15-16
15 We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, 16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
NKJV
Galatians 3:1-12
O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? 2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? 4 Have you suffered so many things in vain -- if indeed it was in vain?
5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? -- 6 just as Abraham "believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." 7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed." 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them." 11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith." 12 Yet the law is not of faith, but "the man who does them shall live by them."
NKJV
So you disagree with Paul? Colossians 2:16-23
16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. 18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.
20 Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations -- 21 "Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle," 22 which all concern things which perish with the using -- according to the commandments and doctrines of men? 23 These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.
NKJV
You are judging those who do not observe “festivals, a new moon or Sabbaths”. I do not have a problem with those who because of weak faith feel they have to observe sabbaths and festivals. Paul did, but not out of compunction: 1st Corinthians 9:19-23
For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; 20 and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; 21 to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; 22 to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23 Now this I do for the gospel's sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.
NKJV
What are the I ams of the Lord?
John 6:35
35 And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.
NKJV
John 7:28-29
28 Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, saying, "You both know Me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know. 29 But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He sent Me."
NKJV
John 10:34-36
34 Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, "You are gods"'? 35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), 36 do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?
NKJV
John 4:25-26
25 The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming" (who is called Christ). "When He comes, He will tell us all things."
26 Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am He."
NKJV
John 8:12
12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."
NKJV

6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
