The First Council of Nicaea codified as Christian dogma pagan concepts that are not found in the Bible. The Wikipedia article you linked to is not totally accurate since there were more than 2 competing positions on the nature of
Christ and his relationship with the Father in the 4th century. The movie Dogma (which I have seen) was a total waste of celluloid. The Gospels are complimentary not contradictory. The Gospel of Judas does not invalidate the Bible just as the other Gnostic gospels do not invalidate the Bible. The Old Testament is not Christian dogma, it is the foundation for the New Testament. The Dark Ages cannot be used to demonstrate the average lifespan of an individual was only 40 years during a period when people lived on an average of 60+ years. Celibacy among Jews, although infrequent does not invalidate Jesus living a celibate life, Jeremiah never married.
