This is a topic I never really gave much thought to until my graduation year.
I find it interesting you (webmaster) feel it wrong to pledge allegiance inside a church. I do remind you that the church building is nothing more than a gathering place for Christians. God is in your heart, so if you feel it is wrong to say the pledge of allegiance in a building, you should feel likewise outside of the building. After much thought, I took a position many people find antipatriotic, but in all truth, isnt. I choose not to say the pledge of allegiance, because a pledge is a vow, and allegiance is quite closely relatated to worship. Some people will argue that vehemently, but it is simple fact. Also, the history of the pledge doesnt do much but give more reason to be weary of it. If a socialist writes something appearing to be patriotic to the symbol of democracy/republic, then something needs investigation. Some theorize, and it makes sense, Francis wrote the pledge just to sell flags. He certainly did not ever do anyting patriotic.
But, I am, patriotic to my country (the USA) and will defend its core principles, on which it was founded, unless God prompts me otherwise. I will not, however, defend what this country has largely become, a sinful, godless country.
