what it means to be saved
All my biblical quotes come from the King James Version of the Holy Bible.
To be saved it takes more than just believing on or in God/Jesus/Holy Spirit (which is one God). There is no Trinity
In Acts 2:38 the bible reads "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Jesus Christ both promised the Spirit of baptism and commanded His disciples to receive the Spirit, as the following verses demonstrate:
1. Luke 11:13- "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Fathergive the Holy Spirit to them that ast him?"
2. John 3:5- "Jesus answered, Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
Jesus Commanded his disciples to "Receive ye the Holy Ghost", Examples: (John 20:22) and (Luke 24:29) and (Acts 1:4-5 & 8)
Spirit Of Christ-Also called the Spirit of God because Jesus is God (Romans 8:9-11). Jesus spoke of being with us and the being in us; the Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God coming into our lives
(Joel 2:28-29; Acts 2:16-18).
A Birth-Two distinct elements constitute the Born Again experience-water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (by immersion), and the Holy Ghost baptism (John 3:1-8). Jesus likened the Holy Ghost to a birth of the Spirit.
What is the evidence of the Holy Ghost? Reply: It is speak in tongues or a unfamiliar language (Acts 2:1-4).
Now that we all know what it means to be saved. If you are Saved are always Saved? Reply: No, a christian must "die" daily or repent daily. One must continually turn from sin and ask God for forgiveness. While we hold true to the moral standards of the bible and the commandments given to all persons or people. (2Peter 3:9)
