ArchivedThe New Sexual RevolutionWell, let's see... I very sincerely doubt that people who prioritize "self-fulfillment and sexual expression" are getting married to do it. Welcome to the modern age... people who don't want to commit to each other and start a family can go ahead and have sex without getting married. I like this sentence. I bet the author is the only person to ever compare same-sex marriage to fat-free sour cream. And the phrase "technologically blunted imagination" charms me with further absurdism. The sentences surrounding this one, before and after, all seemed to make sense. I'm not sure what went wrong. I'm pretty sure there are still cultures at the approximate technological level of those written about in the Bible. I think this man should go live in one. And I do assume "man," because women usually realize that history is not a pleasant place to live. A cover of that song is rather popular right now. And we will tear up all the parking lots... and go back to living in caves and breeding like rabbits. Because the truth is embedded too far into nature to be visible. In conclusion: I think most of it is either wrong or silly, although I've mostly pointed out the silly. To the author's credit, he acknowleges the log in Christianity's collective eye... but I don't think he knows how it got there or what to do about it. |
