I've grown tired of the "blame every one and everything but the people who are actually responsible" mentality that some people unfortunately have.
What happened at Columbine was, indeed, tragic. But what disturbed me, almost as much as the shootings themselves, was the fact that some people were more than willing to place the blame on Marilyn Manson and the Insane Clown Posse (?) than on Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. Marilyn and the members of the ICP didn't pull the triggers. Eric and Dylan did, because they were weak and pathetic. Instead of searching for help for whatever problems they had, they took the lives of innocent people.
So they were bullied. I was bullied every darn day. Did I murder people? Nope. I dealt with it. Finally, during my Senior year, I stood up for myself and I earned the respect of one of the boys who'd bullied me. I'm not saying we became friends or anything like that. But at least he respected me enough to stop harassing me.
(Of course, it helped that his girlfriend stood up to him as well. )
