ArchivedThe Quran - Is pre-ordained sin mans responsibility?Peace lady Fatima You know I have just reread the passage and something struck me.. Jesus did not commit suicide nor was he murdered. The Bible clearly says "He gave up His Spirit". Jesus/God took on the body of a human for a specific purpose.. that only as a man could He achieve what His own character demanded. Sin dealt with and forgiven and a new relationship with God created.. 1 Timothy has said in his first post in another forum , "can a holy God embrace sinful man?" The answer to that is obviously no!! I have shown in other posts many texts from the old testament which shows what happens when God and man who has not yet had his sins dealt with meet. The awesome realisation we must all come to is of the absolute Holiness and perfection of God, compared to our own sinful stat, even if we say we believe in God.. The truth is, you and I both sin every day in small and big ways and the end result of that sin, according to both the Qur'an and the Bible is that the relationship between God and me and God and you is forever broken, unless something happens to bridge that relationship. Now you and I differ as to what that bridge is. You say submission to Allah, we agree, but go one step furthur and say that because we are all sinners, we continue to sin even when in submission and something much more permanent needs to happen in our lives to bridge the relationship. We look at Jesus.. God Himself and say He is that bridge. So Jesus took a body upon Himself.. and as God He came to live in a human body, and then at the crucifixion, he didn't allow Himself to be killed as the others on the crosses either side of him were, by having his legs broken. The bible clearly says, that despite all that suffering He went through... Jesus gave up his spirit of his own accord and commended His spirit back to God. perhaps most important are his words in John 10:17 where jesus Himself answers your question the reason my father loves me, is that I lay down my life, only to take it up again. Now one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I HAVE AUTHORITY TO LAY IT DOWN AND AUTHORITY TO TAKE IT UP AGAIN." THIS COMMAND I RECEIVED FROM MY FATHER." The response of those listening to Him was exactly the same as many today including you and the other Muslims on this board have said. ""Many of them said, He is demon possessed and raving mad, why listen to him." But others said, "These are not the words of a man possessed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind". John 10:21 Lady Fatima, Jesus wasnot murdered, nor did he suicide. the cross is something none of us will fully understand until we meet Him in person, but please do not dismiss it, without first asking God to show you what was and is behind the cross. |
