ArchivedTHE CROSS OF JESUS, CAN BREAK THROUGHPeace ILJ/Y, Ibn Kathir, one of the leading scholars of the Quran has translated it as being “to raise thee” and that no death took place. He is supported by the likes of At-Tabari and Al-Qurtubi. A sect believes that Jesus was crucified and they translate the Quran according to their own beliefs. However, if you read the current and past books of the scholars you would see they also translate it also as “to raise thee”. Furthermore, if you read Chapter 4, verse 157 of the Quran, God tells us that he was not crucified. Ok so let us see. The first part of the verse says “the day I was born” and that is obviously in the past tense. Notice the word “was”. The second part of the verse reads as “and the day I die” which is indicating that the death has not occurred. If he had died, it would have said “and the day I died”. The last part of the verse is “and the day I am raised up alive” which is also written is the future tense. If the resurrection had already taken place, it would have instead stated “and the day I was raised up alive”. He has to die because God tells us in the Quran that everyone will taste death and that includes Jesus. Peace and Blessings be to the Believers |
