ArchivedThe HajjAlexei you just made a huge error!!!. Please open up your quran and show me where The name "Ishmael" appears in that story about Abraham and the sacrifice of his son. There are only two names mentioned in the whole story. Those two names are "Abraham" and "Isaac". That story is told in Quran 37:100-113 and just by looking at that story I know it is from Genesis 22. I also know that Isaac was born before this event as told (Genesis 21). I also know the Ishmael and Hagar had already been sent away before this event, again told in Genesis 21. "Fa Lamma Aslama Wa Tallahu Lil Jabeenn… [37] ... Alexei can you show me where "Ishmaels name is in this verse. By the time of the sacrifice event occurred, Abraham only had one son left, because Ishmael had already been sent into the desert much earlier (Genesis 21). If you read 37:112 correctly, you will see that God is rewarding the two people who took part in the sacrifice i.e: Abraham and Isaac 37:101 So We gave him good news of a compassionate child. 37:102 And when he grew enough to work with him, he said: "My son, I am seeing in a dream that I am slaughtering you. What do you think?" He said: "O my father, do what you are commanded to do. You will find me, God willing, patient" 37:103 And when they both complied, and he put his forehead down. 37:110 We thus reward the righteous. 37:112 And We gave him the good news of Isaac a prophet from among the righteous. 37:113 And We blessed him and Isaac. And from among their progeny, some are righteous, and some are wicked transgressors. Alexei have a look at 37:101 and 37:112, and you can see they are linked together and are refering to the same son (Isaac). Notice the word "Bash-sharnahu" is used in both verses which translates as We gave him the good news . Also check 37:110 that says the righteous are rewarded and when you look at 37:113 it gives the name of son who is rewarded (Isaac). The word "birth" does not appear in that verse Alexei. What you quoted is a wrong translation that is misleading and changes the meaning of that story. Check the word "bash-sharmahu" below. Also there is NO comma after "Isaac" in the original Arabic text. [37] "Wa Bash-sharnahu Be Isaac Nabeyyann mina Al Ssa-leheenn" .. The word Bash-sharnahu, (transitive verb, past tense, plural male)= good news arrived before the happy, unexpected event takes place, is repeated twice, once in 37:101 and again in 37:112. 37:101 "Fa bash-sharnahu bighulamin haleemin" 37:101 "So We gave him good news of a compassionate child" 37:112 "Wa bash-sharnahu Be Isaac Nabeyyann mina Al Ssa-leheenn" 37:112 "And We gave him the good news of Isaac a prophet from among the righteous" If 37:100-113 is read correctly, one can see its a story about Abraham and Isaac. |
