"The Bible (KJV) has been preserved by God and has not changed. You can trust everything God says in it."
Actually, with respect, you can't, simply because it (the Authorized "King James" Version) is a translation and subject to human error in the translation processes just like all the rest.
You can, however, totally and unreservedly, trust what God has said in the original manuscripts (2Tim.3:16-17) for these, and these alone, are the inerrant, infallible Word of God.
To imply that only the A.V. is the legitimate Word of God is nothing more than imperialistic, colonialistic, legalistic idolatry, and, as such, not worthy of a true son of God. (What about those believers around the world who don't even speak or understand modern English let alone archaic English?!)
For the record, I have been a Christian for approximately 30 years now and I was raised on the A.V. and love it passionately (I learned most of my "memory verses" from the A.V. and can still recite them too!), but I will not allow myself to venerate it to the point of idolatry. I also use the NIV and the Complete Jewish Bible as working Bibles (and yes, I know they have translational errors in them too (just like the A.V.) which is why I compare translations to get a more rounded view) and depending on who I'm talking/fellowshipping with, determines which version I will use.
