i only really saw the wisdom of that bible quote words after i learned how to meditate. as jesus surely did in the wilderness.
i realised how desiring ('enjoying 'something for what it is and not seeking to impose change upon it is another thing. consider the vast love of all things which is beyond even the love of your own child ) a thing is hellish (including the attachment of a mother to her child which causes such desperate attachment) how much easier life would be with no sexual partner or children. how much easier to be truly happy.
but it is only when shown the great joy and pleasure that abounds within us and the uses of a balanced mind does this become clear. you might as well **** in the wind if you're just going to tell people not to have sex in a perspex/halogen stressed out cruel enviroment which sells lust to them with chewing gum.
we must teach our children stewardship of their bodies and minds(and point out their ultimate responsibility for this vessel) so they can see the benefits and necessity of looking after themselves. just say no has never worked.
