They have both biblical basis and tradition. The reason I ask you to quote me from Scripture is that you dont believe in tradition therefore Scripture must be complete, and you have no reason to not be able to show me.
I could show you tradition and biblical refrences that flow beautifully together, but you dont believe in tradition so there wouldnt be a point, but sence I too believe in Scripture you can quote it as many times as you wish!
Can you show me your traditions and the Bible coming together without changing Scripture, or "interpreting" Scripture? Is so then do it. If you can show "tradition" by not inventing such concepts as the immaculate conception then do it. In order to show the immaculate conception is not just an RCC myth you will have to show me a Scripture where it states unequivacably that Mary was conceived by the Holy Spirit and if you could do that Protestant "Bible thumpers" would accept it.
My friend Scripture doesnt say Jesus is God yet we know he is, Scripture shows us in parables that Purgatory exists. By the way Scripture says being homosexual is wrong full stop, therefore gay unions and marriages are automatically wrong and sinful.
Leviticus 18:22 "You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination."
Leviticus 20:13 "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them."
1 Corinthians 6:9 "Know you not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, (homosexuals) :10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
I can "interpret" every Scripture you quoted in a way that allows monagamous gay unions.
BTW, the term "homosexual" does not appear in the original languages. Even the Greeks did not have a word that can be properly translated "homosexual". Its very Clear. The Scriptures that you give to support your theory that Purgatory doesnt exist, dont bring me to the conclusion that prugatory automatically doesnt exist. However, ever Scripture you bring up to support the concept of purgatory can be shown to be "interpretations" not supported by the balance of Scripture. You appealed to David and God's discipline in this life. You appealed to a parable about "debts" and I quoted a Scripture that states all our "debts" are cancelled. So purgtory as a viable concept is not supported Biblically. James 5:20 "Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins"
James 5:20 Talks specifically of covering a multitude of sins. Now if Christ purged away all our sins in the Protestant concept, then this passage is superfluous, it makes no sense.

It is not rocket science to understand the Word (Jesus) is God!
