Christian/Muslim ThreadsDeuteronomy 18:18 ... Who Is The Prophet? (Reloaded)You know thats really enoying when a debate gets good then when the christians get their last word into it they then lock the forum. Why do you all do that ? Why not let the forums open so people later can add to the duscussions ? The above expresses that there were three Jewish expectations in which the Jews did not recognize the Prophet as the Messiah but they were two different people as asked in their question. We all know who The Messiah (Christ) was We all know who John the Baptiste was whom fulfilled the prophecy of Elijah but was not Elijah But who is this long awaited prophet mention by the Jews whom is NOT recognised as the Messiah ? Of course we all know what passage in the Bible this is refering to which is Deut 18:15, 18 Criticism of Translators Please have a look at this. G-D told Moses : Moses said to his people what G-D said : Now did Moses repeat back to his people the exact words that G-D told him ? It seems to be some extra stuff added . Now in the hebrew it is word for word the same as what G-D told Moses, so the translation should be the same ? The only difference in the Hebrew are the pronouns. The Hebrew says : " I will raise them up a Prophet like you from their brothers.... " " Yhwh your G-D will raise up a Prophet (Naby) like me (Kemow) from your brothers....." Their is only one version of the Bible that make the transalation exactly to that of the Hebrew which is the "Black Heritage Bible". If any of you can get a hold of this please read it. When I read the Hebrew this is what its says. Also here is a list of the interpolation of words for each verse from a Hebrew Lexicon. 18:15 http://www.studylight.org/isb/bible.cgi ... nt=na&sr=1 18:18 http://www.studylight.org/isb/bible.cgi ... nt=na&sr=1 Most of the words THAT ARE NOT UNDERLINE is not in the Hebrew and some of the words are the hebrew expressions in the context. In this Prophecy its idicates that the Prophets will be raised from their ( The Jews') brothers Now who are " Their Brother" ? The passage is speaking about those who are brothers to them (The Jews) . The other is the Prophet will be LIKE Moses. I read another Forum that another Christian posted showing the simularities between Moses and Jesus but she/he missed soo much dissimularites: Jesus is the son of G-D (according to christianity) Moses is a man of G-D Jesus was born a marculous birth Moses was born a normal birth Jesus had no chilren no wife Moses had children and wives Jesus was sinless Moses was sinful Jesus was only a preacher Moses was a preacher, a ruler, a lawgiver Jesus was not a warrior Moses was a warrior Jesus killed no one Moses Killed many people Jesus was rejected by most Israelites Moses was accepted by most Israelites Jesus did not died and was raised again Moses died and has nto been raised yet Jesus is Divine Moses is not Divine Jesus did away with the law and now grace is the salvation Moses came to lay down the law and inforce it Jesus was graceful Moses showed no grace Jesus could forgive sins Moses couldnt forgive sins Jesus was not a statesman Moses was a statesman Jesus was a carpenter Moses was a sheep Herder If you say Jesus is like Moses then Jesus is no longer unique. As christians so boldly preach that their was no man like Jesus. He cant be unique if he is like Moses "Their Brother" Who are those who are brothers to the Jews ? There is only two other nations of people that are their brothers nad those are the The people of Esau and Ismael (The Arabs). And according to some Christians the Levites are excluded from the Jews in general. Now again we reflect back to the Jewish expectations. The Messiah and the Prophet are two different figures in which on two of the Jewish expectations have been fulfilled in New Testament time and the third was not fulfilled. I leave this to be standing, I want to hear some comments on this. |
