ArchivedCalling all Catholics!"Many are called, but few are chosen." What does this mean? RomeSweetHome wrote:The Catholic church interpretated wrongly? Thats according to you, not even all your Protestant brothers in other protestant denominations, would agree with your interpretation fully. One church interpretates differently then the other, in your Protestant faith.
Catholics claim we misinterpret and misrepresent them and the Catholics Church. You have constantly misrepresented non-Catholics from the day you hit this message board. Just as there are different interpretations of some Scriptures in the Catholic Church so it is in non-Catholic Church. You have posted that not all Catholic Churches adhere to the same customs, like a celibate priesthood. Some of the differences in Protestant denominations is not in interpretation but application. In the Catholic Church some diocese have a patron saint they venerate, this RomeSweetHome is a good comparison to how some non-Catholics Churches are viewed by Catholics. So your inacurrate 30000 different interpretations of Scripture is totally inaccurate. Jesus Christ himself chose twelve of his disciples to be Apostles, pillars and leaders of the Church (Mark 3:13-19). One of these was Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him, whom Jesus himself called "a devil" (John 6:70-71). The failure and fall of this apostle, personally chosen by Christ, does not discredit Christ's Church. His power is with the Church always (Matt. 28:20), and his Spirit is mightier than the weaknesses of his members.
Jesus, Paul, Peter, and John warned us that false teachers and false prophets would come and attempt to deceive many. John calls them antiChrists. Judas was personally chosen by Jesus and Judas betrayed Jesus. What makes you think that just because a man is elected Pope he is not a "Judas"? History shows that some Popes were elected under duress, some Popes used political influence, financial influence, and family influence to get elected. What constitutes a bad Pope? Why has the Catholic Church declared at least one of your Pope's a heretic? If one can be a heretic then all can be a heretic. Aieno Wrote:
The Catholic Church and Catholic doctrine are consistently inconsistent. What does the catechism teach about salvation? Now how has Vatican II and JP II altered historic Catholic teaching? The Muslims are covered by the blood of Christ because we have a common ancester, Abraham. Now if that is not heresy what would you call it?[/quote
Could you please give me a refrence? Something offical that I could read.
Peace Salvation Only Comes Through The Catholic Church
Muslims can go to heaven, says Archbishop
Catechism of the Catholic Church wrote:846 How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers?335 Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body:
Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.336
847 This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church:
Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.337
848 "Although in ways known to himself God can lead those who, through no fault of their own, are ignorant of the Gospel, to that faith without which it is impossible to please him, the Church still has the obligation and also the sacred right to evangelize all men."338

But yet, the Catechism also says:
Catechism of the Catholic Church wrote:841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."330

The problem here is that Muslims reject the Catholic Church and its teachings, but yet the Catholic Church still considers them to be saved. Thus, a paradox arises: non-Christians who reject the Catholic Church and its teachings can be saved, but yet only non-Christians who cannot help not knowing the Catholic Church are saved.
Do an Internet search using John Paul II + muslims and you can find a plethora of sites that document John Paul II speaking as Pope says that Muslims are saved outside the Catholic Church or even affirming Jesus is the Son of God, have been baptized, or meet Biblical criteria for salvation.
Why was Pope Honorus declared a heretic? You have not answered this quesiton.
