alltough i stick to my statement that "you either believe in God or in Allah" because muslims made the arabic name of God a trademark of Islam it's always in it's first meaning associated to the God of the Quran. I still don't get why Muslims can't use the name God when they are talking english or any other language. Why the constant notion for not translating Allah into God.
I am not going to deny that when the word Allah is used its immedietely associated with Islam, but why is this? When I went to America people automatically labeled me a muslim because I was arabic, Ignorance plays a part in this.
To me your statment looks like this "you ethier believe in God or in God" why? Because I can relate to both words, the statment makes no sense to me. However I do understand what you are trying to imply.
I have had conversations with muslims that use the word God, Its just they prefer to use the word Allah.

Anyhow i don't know if shifted subjects from linguistic to theology if i did i'm sorry. Yet RomeSweetRome i do believe we agree mostly as do i think that Severyn would agree with it as well if we debated it constructivly. Since i think Severyn missunderstood what you ment at first.
I agree.

Ok so you basically ment that as a God not the God of Islam, if that's the case you should have been more specific it would have saved me a heck of allot of time and nerves.
I was very specific concerning what I ment, unfortunately you rapidly jump to conclusions, at least we both understand each other now.

I have a different view of this then you do.
And that is?

Ok that pretty much answers my question. Hey by the way remeber the time your Pope went to visit some Islamic religious leader? He ended up kissing the Quoran [Sic]. By the way most Catholics I talk to believe that Allah and Yahweh are one in the same, so I don't blame you.
I cannot believe how many times that has been said to me, yes the Pope did kiss the Quran as a mark of respect to our fellow human beings.
Are God and Yahweh one and the same?

I use a Greek and Hebrew scriptures, I am not an expert on languages but I use a lexicon to translate and amplify the scripture; some words have many meanings hence the reason I try to use amplification from Hebrew and Greek scripture.
I don't own any Bibles, I have to translate before I read the scripture.
First Christian I have met who doen't own a Bible, why? Whats wrong with the Bible?
Already translated for you, saves you time.

Yes I know that, for Jesus they used Iesou; but in the OT Yahweh is used 6868 times. Jews stoped using it, we don't know exactly when but we know that they substituted Yahweh with another name, some people think it was during the 1st dispersion but that's not conclusive.
Why did the Jews do that?
Sevryn45 Wrote:
OK, but why do you insist on using Allah instead of Yahweh or Christ Jesus?
I use Allah/God, Lord and Jesus christ.
Sevryn45 Wrote:
That's your choice but why use Allah for God when you can use one of the names he gave you, he's not a nameless diety.
God doesnt insist on us calling him by name. I am sure God will still listen to me if I called upon him with Lord or Father etc... I use whatever makes me feel comfortable, obviously nothing like Mother etc...
Sevryn45 Wrote:
No I am not a JW, and technically when you do use Lord God etc. it's considered blasphemy because you're braking one of the ten commandments.
considered blasphemy? Show me.
The commandent you are reffering to is the third I presume.
"You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
(Exodus 20:7)
I do not see how calling Yahweh God or Lord is taking his name in vain.

But there's always a war or a civil war or a rebellion or terrorism, inhumane treatment and genocide in one of those Arabic countries. Give me a few and I will find a prophecy that relates to the descendants of Ishmael you will be shocked what Yahweh says about them.
Has there been a war in Saudi Arabia? nope. And its one of the richest countrys in the world, its not in shambles. Yes there are inhumane acts in Saudi Arabia ,I agree fully.

Beyrith means covenant and there are many different Beyrith; As you may have know Yahweh did not give the Torah to Abraham but to Moses this is where the religious covenant started, with Moses not with Abraham.
Abraham's covenant stated that his seed would receive land, later on with Moses Israelites were told to do certain things ONE OF WHICH WAS TO SEPARATE THEMSLEVES FROM GENTILES.
Jews are a Nation, not only that but they also have their own GENE POOL; which can be proven easily through Genetics.
The Bible will show that the Jews were always referred to as a people, and not as a nation. And an understanding of the history and destiny of the Jews will reveal the fact that the Jews were not intended to be a nation. But what constitutes the Jews as a people?
Their identification with Yahweh and Judaism.
Take away from the Jews Yahweh and Judaism, and they cease to be Jews. Judaism and the Jews never attached any importance to race, colour and blood. Any one embracing Judaism and identifying himself with Yahweh became a Jew to all intents and purposes, and then the Jews freely intermarried with him.
The Bible shows that the Jews freely intermarried with people of other races, colour and blood.

Did you know that a Jew can be Atheists? Or a securalist, or a Buddhist? Jews are Jews because of the bloodline, they don't necessarily have to practice Judaism to be Jews.
Do you know the difference between Zionism and Judaism?

Al Jazzera is brodcast in Arabic not Hebrew, where are you getting this from?
Usally when they put a speaker of a different language on al Jazzera to speak, you can hear that person in the background even as the interpretator is speaking and they allow him or her to speak before the interpretator begins to translate.

Simmilar but not that Identical, they're pretty distinct, it's like comparing Czech to Slavic or Polish. I was born in Europe, I know the differance between German, French, Itallian and Spanish; they may have their roots in Latin but that's about as far as it goes.
I.E speaking Itallian won't help you in Spain, speaking French wont help you if go Germany.
Speaking Italian will help you considerably if you are in Spain and vice versa.
