n. pl. mo·ral·i·ties
1. The quality of being in accord with standards of right or good conduct.
2. A system of ideas of right and wrong conduct: religious morality; Christian morality.
3. Virtuous conduct.
4. A rule or lesson in moral conduct.
What has a priest’s poor eyesight have to do with morality? Those priests who served in the temple were required to be without blemish. Owning slaves is immoral and is a different topic.
His poor eyesight is related in as much as it's immoral to approach the alter for having such according to the bible.
(BTW, I'm not the one who believes that poor eyesight is immoral, the bible says as such)
Why are you hung up on a system of laws that were given to one nation, a system of laws that did not apply to gentile nations or to Christians since the inception of Christianity?
 you're kidding right? Because, it's Christians who keep telling me over and over that I'm 'an abomination' based on one sentance in the book of Leviticus.
BTW, before you quote the New Testment passages related to homosexuality don't bother, I've seen them. But isn't it also true that Jesus never told anyone which parts of the new or old laws to follow SPECIFICALLY.
I don't see the gay community singled out as those who have been marginalized. You are reading something into this letter that is simply not there. African American churches are about the most fundamental of all Christian churches. In fact many Black churches would consider Southern Baptists moderate to liberal.
The fact that they've realized that their message hasn't been inclusive is good enough for me.
