H20-
Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but I nearly had to go through this whole book page by page to find this reference, I may qoute some of the testimonies in this book. It's different testimonies of middle easterners who converted to follow Christ and the persecutions that they faced b/c of it. But without further digression, I'll move on to the qoute
Book: Into the Den of Infidels
On the other hand, I found from the Qur'an itself that Mohammad was just another human being like any other, with his sins, his hostility toward the infidels, and his death. The Qur'an says,
And ask forgiveness for thy fault, and for the men and women who belive. (Surah 47:19)
That Allah may forgive thee thy faults of the past and those to follow (Surah 48:2)
And had We not given thee strength, thou wouldst nearly have inclined to them a little (Surah 17:74)
In his Qur'an commentary, Imam El-Syouty explained the reasons behind Surah 17:74:
According to Mohammad, son of Kaab, from the tribe of Karz, the Prophet Mohammed recited Surah 53 until he said, "Have you seen 'Lat' and 'Uzza'..." (Names of idols), then the Devil made him say that Muslims could worship them, and that the idols' intercessions were to be sought. So, it became a verse in the Qur'an.
Prophet Mohammed was so sad about what happened until God inspired him with another verse: "Never we did send a messenger or a prophet before thee, but, when he framed a desire, Satan threw some (vainity) into his desire; but Allah will confirm (and establish) His signs" (Surah 22:52)
That was the reason for Surah 17:73,74: "And their purpose was to tempt thee away from that which We had revealed unto thee, to substitute in Our Name something quite different: Behold! They would certainly have made thee (their) friend. And had We not given thee strength, thou wouldst nearly have inclined to them a little." [sic]
That is an exerpt from the book; title above pages 12 and 13
You prophet who was self proclaimed commited an unforgiveable sin according to Islamic law and joined partners to Allah. God bless, and my truth lead your path...
If you can get it, read the book... Or go to borders for a while: it's only one person's testimony. It won't take too much time...
