Homosexual Discussion ForumHomosexuality is a Gift from GodCross_+_Flame wrote:Please, for all of our sakes, read through my posts and show where I have questioned the "validity and inerrancy" of Scripture. I have posed different possible interpretations, but never questioned (a) validity, or (b) inerrancy. I have only questioned (c) human interpretation, and even then I haven't questioned any Creeds or Holy Declarations.
I have read your posts and what I have seen in the homosexuality forum is an attempt to water down God's truth, which is to question the validity and inerrancy of Scripture. There is more to Biblical truth than creeds (which are manmade). As to questioning "Holy Declarations" when Christians look for reasons and advance interpretations that would void God's prohibition concerning same gender sexual relationships you are in fact questioning God. Cross_+_Flame wrote:It seems our hangup is again language. There are "fruits and gifts of the spirit", but there are also lesser gifts. Gift of a child, gift of a talent, gift of a sexuality. Gifts are not rights; they are responsibilities (we seem to agree). Therefore, heterosexuality can be used irresponsibly as polygamy, fornication, and other violations of other persons. I am in no way saying that sexuality is a "gift of the Spirit" (which would imply the Jews do not have sexuality as gift to be used responsibly...something i think they would question ).
Paul was a Jew by birth and Christianity is the fulfillment of Jewish prophecies. God has made it clear throughout Scripture that sexual unions are to be limited to heterosexual marriages and any attempt to interpret this fact in light of modern psychology is to question Biblical truth. Hebrews 13:4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. NAS
Now define fornication. CRIME
Fornication. - Hebrew, zanah = "to commit adultery," especially of the female, and less frequently of mere fornication, seldom of involuntary ravishment; also used figuratively in the sense of idolatry, the Jewish people being regarded as the spouse of Yahweh (2 Chronicles 21:11; Isaiah 23:17; Ezekiel 16:26). Once we find the derivative noun taznuth (Ezekiel 16:29). In the New Testament, with both the literal and the figurative application, we find porneia, and porneuo (Matthew 5:32; 15:19; John 8:41; Acts 15:20; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:13,18; 7:2; 10:8; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Revelation 2:14,20-21; 9:21; 14:8; 17:2,4). The intensive ekporneuo = "to be utterly unchaste" is found in Jude verse 7. Every form of unchastity is included in the term "fornication."

FORNICATION
[for nih KAY shun] -- sexual relationships outside the bonds of marriage. The technical distinction between fornication and ADULTERY is that adultery involves married persons while fornication involves those who are unmarried. But the New Testament often uses the term in a general sense for any unchastity. Of the seven lists of sins found in the writings of the apostle Paul, the word fornication is found in five of them and is first on the list each time (1 Corinthians 5:11; Colossians 3:5). In the Book of Revelation, fornication is symbolic of how idolatry and pagan religion defiles true worship of God (Revelation 14:8; 17:4).

FORNICATION (Grk. porneia). Used of illicit sexual intercourse in general (Acts 15:20,29; 21:25; cf. 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:13,18; 7:2; etc.). It is distinguished from "adultery" (Grk. moicheia, in Matthew 15:19; Mark 7:21). The NIV usually translates porneia as "sexual immorality" and moicheia as "adultery." Jahn (Biblical Archaeology, sec. 158) thus distinguishes between adultery and fornication among nations where polygamy exists: "If a married man has criminal intercourse with a married woman, or with one promised in marriage, or with a widow expecting to be married with a brother-in-law, it is accounted adultery. If he is guilty of such intercourse with a woman who is unmarried it is considered fornication." At the present time adultery is the term used of such an act when the person is married, fornication when unmarried; and fornication may be defined as lewdness of an unmarried person of either sex. Its prohibition rests on the ground that it discourages marriage, leaves the education and care of children insecure, depraves and defiles the mind more than any other vice, and thus makes one unfit for the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9; etc.). Our Lord forbids the thoughts that lead to it (cf. Matthew 5:28).

To even consider homosexuality is a gift from God is to label God a liar.
Leviticus 18:22 'You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. NAS
Leviticus 20:13
13 'If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them. NAS
Galatians 3:23-24
23 But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, being shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed. 24 Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, that we may be justified by faith. NAS
Revelation 21:7-8
1. 7 "He who overcomes shall inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son. 8 "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." NAS
If you truly love and care for the gay community you will stand firm on God’s truth and put aside interpretations of Scripture that weaken or nullify God’s truth. If you want to view human sexuality as a gift from God then to use your own words: which would imply the Jews do not have sexuality as gift to be used responsibly.

This is one of our Forum Rules and you seem to want to ignore that using modern psychology is not a proper way to interpret Scripture.
