The beginning of the song actuall starts out:
Nothing seems to be the way That it used to
Everything seems shallow
God give me truth
In me
And tell me somebody's watching over me
And that is all I'm praying's that someday
I will understand
I God's whole plan
And what he does to me
Oh but maybe
Someday I will breathe
And I'll finally see
I'll see it all in my baby
To me the song is saying She is asking God to give her truth- not saying that she knows everything or is a perfect person.
Then she says that all she is praying is that somday she will understand God and who He is in her life, and in the life of everyone. Then she says that she will finally see the fruit of all of her labor in her child. Maybe certain things didn't go her way, but now it all makes sense, because had everything in her life not happened as it did, her baby would not be the person he/she is.
Psalm 127:3 says-"Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."
Also, there is alot of good in this song I think. As Christians we are supposed to see the good in everything, not the bad. Jesus saw the good in people. Britney Spears isn't claiming to be some great Christian but she still has alot of good to say.
Titus 1:15 says: "Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but ever their mind and conscience is defiled."
Aren't Christians of all people supposed to other people for their potential and focus on what the person is doing right, not on what the person is doing wrong.
I agree, that Britney Spears and Madonna kissing may have caused some children who idolize Britney and look to her for how to act the impression that it is "cool" for females to kiss and it could cause some kids who really have no one to look to but Britney to want to go and kiss every girl girl they see. Who knows.
Aren't we all mature enough adults to overlook the small things we don't like about people and to see the good in them.
Jesus says in Matthew 7:1- "Judge not that ye be not judged."
I never asked what anyone though of Britney Spears for having kissed Madonna, or what anyone thought of her as a Christian example. I'm talking about the message she is trying to give people about God. She finds alot of comfort in God and has faith that God is in control.
Anyone can be a parent. Britney's song is saying to me how beautiful it is to be a mother and how even more precious and beautiful a child is.
