Jovaro, no matter what philosophical or religious background a person has, one can only go on what one has experienced! However, your comment has two basic errors:
1. It is a presumption based on the accuracy of atomic dating that the earth is 4 billion + years old. The accuracy of atomic dating is based on the presumption that atomic processes have remained constant for that period of time. Problem: data and experience dispute that presumption.
2. We have at least 4000 years of data to draw on, unless you consider the early civilizations (which could do brain surgery, build pyramids, establish underground sewer systems....) to be blithering idiots.
