ArchivedHoly Spirit :: Re: Holy Spirit1 Corinthians 2:14- But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. The Holy Spirit does not ONLY come to you if you are baptized. You can have the Holy Spirit even before you are baptized. Although, if you have the Holy Spirit before you are baptized, it will eventually lead you to baptism. Before I was saved I did not have the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit convicts you of every wrong thing that you do. When I was unsaved and I did something wrong and no one would see, I would not care. When you have the Holy Spirit, you see the truth. You feel convicted even when you are a hypocrite and no one knows. The small sins that no one cared about or knew about, you started to care about and know about. Cursing used to be a part of my normal everyday language. When you have the Holy Spirit, for some reason you know it is wrong. Non-Christians do not understand and I do not expect them to understand. Someone once said, "trying to explain the Holy Spirit to a non-Christian is like trying to explain a rainbow to a blind person." Most people think it's some kind of magic trick or some fake myth. If you believe that humans have spirits, why can't you believe in the Holy Spirit? Muslims believe in supernatural things such as God and angels. So why do most of them make it seem as if this Holy Spirit has to be a prophet and not the Spirit of God? Why can't they believe that the Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth within a human being? I do not understand what is strange about that. To best answer your question Naaji, is the way Jesus explained it to Nicodemus. Jesus gave an example of the wind. You see the winds effects and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from. That is the Holy Spirit [John 3:8]. |
