(and remember), when Allah said: O Jesus! Lo! I am gathering thee and causing thee to ascend unto Me, and am clensing thee of those who disbelieve and am setting those who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me ye will all return, and I shall judge between you as to that wherein you differ."
That doesnt even mention a resurection of jesus (pbuh), its is day of resurection, i.e. Quaymaat i.e. the day of judgement.
(I am still learning how to do the "fancier things" like quotes in my posts, so I do hope that this worked)
Naaji, if I read that surah as it is written, it is Allah talking to Jesus. He is told He is going to be 'gathered and caused to ascend to Allah and will be clensed of those who disbelieve and setting those who follow thee, above those who disbelieve".
In my reading, without anyone or anyone else telling me an interpretation of what that means.. it shows me that Jesus in order to be gathered up to Allah had to either die. and after death ascend to him, or he never died in the first place, but is alive now, with Allah and the people who are followers of Him are placed in a higher "acceptance" than the disbelievers. All this is to continue to the day of resurrection.
Now.. my question Naaji, Allah here is speaking directly to Jesus.. and it is Allah who has done the exalting, he doesn't mention humans anywhere.
Now.. I know on the Day of Judgement, when Isa (Jesus) returns, one of the things he is meant to do, is to break a cross, destroy all synagogues and churches and kill all Christians who have not accepted Him. (From the Hadith).
So, please Naaji, can you help me understand, why all Christians will go to heaven as will all believers of the prophets, and yet the Hadith appears to suggest that judgement awaits all those who don't believe in the Quranic Jesus?
