ArchivedJesus a Hypocrite in the Bible???John 3:16- "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God gave Jesus' life as a sacrifice for us and our sins. God is not going to make us go to Heaven on our own righteousness. He is too holy for that. Moses and the prophets did not make it to Heaven on their own righteousness, but they made it to Heaven by putting their trust in God (which included giving sacrifices for their sins) and putting their trust in the coming Messiah. If Moses and the other prophets had not given sacrifices, then no matter how "good" they were, they would not be putting their trust in God for their sins. In order for one to make it to Heaven in these times, they must put their trust in God, which includes accepting the sacrifice of His Son for your sins and not relying on what you do to enter Paradise. Yes Jesus did die for our sins, but that was not all. He also resurrected to show in the last days that there will be a resurrection. It was not like God killed Jesus and left him for dead. So the Father was pleased to kill Jesus for the sake of us and our sinful nature. It shows you how much God loves us, by killing someone who had no blemish. When they gave sacrifices in the Old Testament, the lambs had to be without blemish, which symbolized Jesus' mission to come. |
