Aristotle wrote that sex between men strictly for pleasure was immoral; Alexander the Great was not exclusively gay; Socrates did not approve of homosexuality; Sparta did not approve of exclusive homosexuality; in Athens being a passive partner in homosexual acts was justification for having your citizenship revoked; shall I continue?
Homosexuality as practiced in our society has never been accepted, promoted, or approved in any culture in the history of the world.
As to webmaster's paraphrase, he is attempting to show homophobic Christian's how Jesus would have reacted to having a gay man brought to Him for judgement. Jesus would have done the same thing He did with the adulterous woman, He would not have judged him/her and then told him/her to go and sin no more.
Who does adultery hurt? It may hurt the feelings of the spouse but it in no way hurts the two people involved in the adultery; do you advocate free sex and a total disregard for marriage?
BTW, Sodom was not destroyed because of homosexuality. It was destroyed for the reasons found in Ez 16:49-50. Some Christian's choose to view Gen 19:5 as the only abomination committed in Sodom, when in reality the list of Sodom's abominations was quite long.
