ArchivedAtheists, Buddhism, Pagan, or the Jewish religionI understand what you are saying, and even God will agree with you. For example, take the situation of Judas. When he committed suicide, it was because he finally realized he had been involved in the shedding of innocent blood. His fear was not a fear in terms of respect for God, but His fear was because of the fact he got caught . Let's say a mother tells her child do not eat ice cream at night. One night the child sneaks down stairs and takes out big scoops of vanilla. Suddenly, the mother turns on the kitchen light and catches the child in the act, and the child starts crying. That crying was because of a fear in the mother. But that fear was not a respectful/repenting fear, but a fear of the punishment that is to happen for getting caught. The fear that Christians have in God is totally different. It is a fear which shows respect and reverence towards God. If you do not show this type of fear towards God, then why should you have the right to be in paradise with Him anyway? If your parents say "As long as you live under my roof, you live by my rules" does that mean they do not love you? If your parents say "Don't do drugs because their will be consequences", and then you do drugs and end up in the streets, does that mean they are not your parents? So, if someone decides not to repent and they go to hell, that does not mean Christ is not Saviour. Again, man is not a robot, we have free will. This is the best thing God could have ever done by sending Christ. Can you imagine someone who has spent their entire life trying to be seperated from Christ, then on judgement day that person is forced into heaven kicking and screaming against their will? But in order for that patient to be treated/healed, he first has to go to the physician. This is intersting, because Christ almost says the samething: Mark 2:17>They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. |
