I think it's odd that you accuse us of being ignorant, when you gladly make a statement such as this: "I am not a christian because christianity does not acceot people for who they are; it accepts people who are stupid enoghf to have blind faith."
You insult our intelligence, and you then state that we're ignorant? I think you're the one who is ignorant. I do not hate gay people. However, I do hate what you practice on a daily basis. I think homosexuality, as well as every other sin known to man, is disgusting, not to mention harmful. Because of sin, our world is being dragged down on a daily basis. So yes, you are harming others, even if that is not your intention. Every sinful person (Yes! Even I tend to be sinful, and I was just baptized!) is responsible for what's going on in the world today.
Let me ask you this: Would an "ignorant" person repeatedly stand up to members of the Westboro cult? I can provide an answer for you right now, and that answer is a definite, "NO!" Please check out the link that is provided in my signature, and point out aspects of my website that are "ignorant." I promise you, you will find nothing. My website is about preaching God's truth - the truth - and standing up for what I know in my heart to be right. If I'm ignorant because of that? Well, good for me!
Finally, why are you on a Christian message board, if you dislike Christianity? What do you have to gain? How would you feel if we appeared on a pro-homosexuality board and bashed you and your gay friends? Think about how you would feel. Now, put yourself in our shoes.
If you don't like Christianity, fine. I feel sympathy for you, and I'll pray for you. However, do not think - for one moment - that it's okay for you to disrespect us. And please, do not come on here and practice the very thing which you claim to hate: ignorance. There is a big difference between hating a person's beliefs or lifestyle, and hating that person. And I certainly do not hate you, Eric.
I think it's safe to assume that you are against murder. Should I then accuse you of being ignorant in regards to the murderers themselves? How, then, is the fact that Christians loathe all forms of sin a form of ignorance? We are not saying, "Gay people cannot vote! Gay people cannot use the same restrooms as straight people." That, friend, would be a sign of true ignorance and discrimination, the kind that African-Americans were subjected to for far too long. Believe me, Eric, THAT is true discrimination. However, when Christians stand up for what they know is right - when we defend God's commandments and preach the gospel...How can that be ignorance? Would you rather see us turn our backs on you and say, "Let's forget about Eric and allow him to continue on his destructive path"? Or would you rather hear us say, "Eric, we love you so much, that we want to introduce you to Jesus Christ, the Savior who died a horrible death and rose again, so that you may have eternal life"?
The choice is yours, Eric, and I pray that you choose to know God.
And I apologize profusely if I've just come off as angry. It was not my intention to sound that way. However, I'm not going to hold back, especially when it comes to defending what I know is right.
Also, the Constitution was designed to protect every U.S. citizen's rights. And last I checked, same-sex "marriage" was not one of those rights, and it never should be.
