Archivedopen minded :: ReplyReply Everyone is intolerant about something, Gerani. You're intolerant when it comes to the Christians' moralistic viewpoints and the fact that Yahweh is the one true God. I'm intolerant when it comes to things that oppose God's desires for His creation. But there is a difference between being intolerant of people's religious beliefs, and being intolerant of the people. Organizations like the ACLU and the American Atheists practice both forms of intolerance, in that they have a great amount of hatred for the Judeo-Christian faith. My father once made this statement (or something similar): "You cannot get through life without offending someone, so just stick to your beliefs." I'm glad we agree on one thing. Schools should be allowed to teach the children about the faiths of the world. I think it would be helpful, so that the children - when they venture into the real world - will have the knowledge they need to interact with people of different cultures. However, that doesn't mean that I would allow my kids to attend a public school, because a majority of schools have been overrun with filth. |
