Almost every time the word "saints" is used in Scripture it refers to the living, not the dead. So the angels are offering our prayers, not the prayers of dead people.
There is no doubt that those in heaven are in a different space, dimension, time, and etc. but you still have not shown that those dead in Christ can hear our prayers.
As to what the early church taught that is not the issue since you cannot show those in the early church received this teaching directly from any Apostle.
ALMOST every time
NOT every time!
You still have not shown that those dead in Christ
cannot hear our prayers.

You are the one who is affirming they can so you have the burden of proof to prove they can. So far all you have posted is assumptions and unproven traditions.
1 John 2:18
18 Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen; from this we know that it is the last hour. NAS
How do we know that some of those John refers to as antichrists have not crept into the Catholic Church and helped establish false traditions? Unless you can show Christ's chosen Apostles taught your doctrines you are promoting the "traditions" of men.
