Transitional fossils perhaps?
And let's not forget that the 'incredible' transition of fish to land animals is not that hard to believe. Do you know what a mudskipper is?
www.dictionary.com wrote: Any of several fishes of the family Gobiidae, especially of the genus Periophthalmus, that are found along the western coast of tropical Africa and in the Indo-Pacific region and are able to survive out of water and maneuver on land.
Some of these can even climb trees, using their fins. Evolution is still busy!
Do you know what a lungfish is?
www.dictionary.com wrote: Any of several elongated freshwater fishes of the Amazon, western and central Africa, and Australia that have lunglike organs as well as gills and are able to breathe air, allowing certain species to survive periods of drought inside a mucus-lined cocoon in the mud.
We see that two completely different kinds of fish are conquering the land on no less than three seperate continents... The latter one can even breathe air! Is is REALLY so difficult to assume that fish evolved into amphibians?
