Christian/Muslim ThreadsLetter of John :: Re: Letter of John"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God" (1 John 4:1-3) To understand the meaning in these verses about "Jesus Christ is come in the flesh" we need to look at other Scriptures for reference: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us..." (John 1:1,14) "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." (1 Tim:3:16) To make the confession "Jesus Christ is come in the flesh" is to confess His Deity as God. Islam, Judaism, Mormonism and all false religions deny Jesus' Deity as God. The spirit of antichrist is the driving force behind all false concepts of Jesus Christ. Even within Christianity there are false doctrines that in one way or other degrade Jesus and deny His name however so subtle. Demon spirits also cannot and will not confess Jesus' Deity as God. I hope that clarifies for you. |
