Science, Creation & EvolutionNoahs Flood is it real, is it global?I see you prefer to pick and choose what parts of my posts to comment on. First and foremost this is not a science board it is a fundamentalist (as we define fundamentalist) Christian message board that has a science forum whose title is Science, Creationism, and Evolution. In other words this forum is where people of all perspectives can discuss what is found in science journals and what is found in the popular press, which means “ID” is going to be used as a means to understand and interpret science, especially when all science can do is attempt to explain what happened in the past based on the theories and hypotheses that can be view through varies filters based on how one understands the Bible. I have not made any bad assumptions. I have relatives who are scientists and who are also Christians. They would shudder at the idea they are “fundamentalists” even though they accept the “fundamental” truths of Scripture. Some of them view Genesis as allegory and other view Genesis as partial allegory and partial historical truth. However, there are many Christians who view Genesis as literal truth and to them any attempt to show Genesis is not accurate is an attack upon their faith. I will repeat “ID” is not science but that does not equated to “ID’ not being scientific. As to atheism you seem to want to ignore that Darwin, Lylle, and Huxley were in fact atheists with an agenda that is being taught in schools, colleges, and universities as scientific fact, so although you did not bring up atheism when you denigrate ID you are in fact giving atheists preference over non-atheists in your thinking. Aburaees, made some observations that are worth thinking about but since Aburaees is not denying the validity or historicity of the Biblical Noah. Amburaees and I do not have a “fundamental” difference in understanding Scripture. However, Gould's and your opinions are worth about as much as anyone else’s opinions on matters of what will or will not affect another persons faith. If you are going to attempt to manage this message board like a science journal your presence is not welcome since your opinion of ID as a method of understanding science is immaterial. As to Noah and the flood I suggest we continue this discussion on the thread that was established and left for further discussion. Starting a new thread to rehash what has been discussed only rehashes what has already been shared. |
