ArchivedCONTRADICTIONS IN THE QURANPsalm 42:3- My tears have been my food day and night, While {they} say to me all day long, "Where is your God?" Psalm 42:10- As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries revile me, While they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?" Unanswered prayers does not mean God does not exist, and you took Jesus' saying out of context, as you normally do when making posts. So "No longer" means forever? What do you think about the definition of "everlasting" as in an everlasting covenant with the Jews? If you want to make such an argument, you just got rid of Islam there. Also, you are making this very difficult. When God says Jacob shall no longer be called Jacob, God means that Jacob will also be referred to as Isreal. It does not mean no one will EVER call him Jacob EVER again in his life. I would never take this to be a contradiction, because it is not. Only people who disregard the Bible will say it is a contradiction when they actually know it isn't. That was a vain attempt to show corruption. You can do better than that! That's only a contradiction if you are going into the Bible LOOKING for "so called" contradictions. Take it how you want, but you are not changing my mind on that matter. Move along. It is not an unfulfilled prophecy. First of all, why would God inherit land for Himself when He made a promise to Abraham and his descendants? 2 Chronicles is not speaking of God, it is speaking of Solomon who was king of the Jews. If Solomon owned that land (verse 25), then it was inherited by the Jews, thus fulfilling the prophecy. And "our days" does not have anything to do with the prophecy. God never said they would own the land "forever!" New John Gill Exposition- And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee That is, both his family and his government should be perpetuated, or he should always have one of his family to sit upon his throne; the accomplishment of which, in the beginning of it, he saw with his eyes in his son Solomon, and with an eye of faith in his greater Son the Messiah, in whom only these words will have their complete fulfilment; and so Abarbinel says this vision or prophecy is explained by some of the days of the Messiah; and this house and kingdom, in (1 Chronicles 17:14) ; are called by the Lord "my" house, and "my" kingdom. Whenever I post, you have to remember that I do not claim things to be, such as you do, because I might lack understanding or be ignorant towards the situation. So, I am going to say that the "uncircumsized" statement is referring to the ungodly. It was a term or slang used by the Jews to describe people who were not of God. That term no longer is applied today because one does not have to be physically circumsized to be a godly person. We no longer live under ceremonial law. There is no use having a discussion with you on the Bible if you are going to take everything in its literal meaning. King David often referred to his pagan enemies as the uncircumsized and so did God. But if David was alive today, he would no longer call pagan enemies of God "uncircumsized" because there are gentiles that worship God who are not circumsized. |
