ArchivedOneness, Trinity debate!God is Spirit and so is the Holy Spirit and as such are not "persons" as you and I are. However, they are distinct and independent forces or personalities. The Holy Spirit gives gifts not Jesus or the the Father, we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not through faith in the Father or the Holy Spirit. There is Trinity of responsibilites in the Godhead. God is one, not three; however God is three distinct personalities with three distinct job descriptions with three different designations or names, not one name. If you love Me, you will keep My commandments"; "baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit". You are one human being with different names for each job or position you perform in this life. You are father to your children, son to your parents, and servant to your employer. You want to take this inadequate analogy and through human logic deny the commandments of Jesus. There is no other name by which we can be saved, however no man can come to Jesus unless the Father calls him. God is one who exists eternally as God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus the Son is a person who is now in heaven in the same body He had on this earth. The Father is on His throne the Son stands at His right interceding for us, and the Holy Spirit is working through and in us on earth. Three personalities exisiting in one God. God the Father's name is not Jesus the Messiah. |
