You have contended that Aisha didn't qualify to be a woman (nisaa'a) due to her age, and thus Muhammad couldn't have married her
I think you may misunderstood what I said. My quotation of Quran 4:3 above posted (as an example) which was subheaded as "
Contradiction" demonstrates that our Prophet could not have married her at 6 in which the marriage was still held after the Quran 4:3 was revealed.
H2O wrote:There has to be something wrong here cause Muhammad didnt divorce her to comply with the Quran. If we do our home work in authenticating the hadeeth this is what we will fine.
What year was Aisha born in ? She was born in 613-614 AD corresponding to the Islamic calendar 8-9 years before the Hijra.
Remember she didnt marry Muhammad until 623-624 (1-2 Hijrah) which would make her about 10 years old when he married her, and not 6, When the prophet was taken away Aisha was 19-20 in 632-633 [and not 15-16 if she married him at 6] as all the sources agree to.
She did qualify to be a woman at the time of her marriage to the Prophet (s.a.w.) as her true age was authenticated by various sources.
Can you confirm for us what is meant by the following terms;
1. Sinn at-Tamyiiz - age of discretion, between 7 and 10.
2. Sinn al-Muraahaqah - age of puberty, between 10 and 14.
3. Sinn al-Buluugh - age of maturity, around 15.
#1 -
The age when some one can make their own choices, and becomes responsable
#2 -
The age when a person's pubic hairs start to appear
#3 -
The age when a person starts to fully develope

My post does not incline to such a thing. "age of discretion" starts at 7, it does not have an ending ageas you posted. "
age of discretion" is the age when they can start to make their own choices.
Aburaees wrote:From you post I have understood that a woman can be married during "Sinn al-Muraahaqah"
Correct. This is the time when she is legal for marriage as she is now a woman per the Quran.
Isn't it possible that Aisha had reached the age of puberty (Sinn al-Muraahaqah) at nine years old, thereby qualifying her for marriage?
I already answered this indirectly.
H2O wrote:If she was 9-10 as the dates show from the time of her birth, the time of her marriage, and the time when she became widowed, she had already reached puberty in which she was a woman. Whereas from when the Surah al-nisaa was revealed about two years later making her 11-12 years of age she was long past puberty.
She was a woman at this age where she had already reached puberty.
Aburaees wrote:But for most Christians this still represents a problem as "Sinn al-Muraahaqah" can be reached between the ages of 10 and 14, and in extreme cases even before the age of 10.
For the average female it is between
9-12
A girl's period, also known as menstruation, begins after she has reached puberty. Puberty usually starts between age 8 and 13 in girls, but it's also normal for some girls to start earlier or later than that. On average, a girl's first period usually comes 2 to 2 1/2 years after the first sign of puberty (breast development is usually the first sign of puberty, but sometimes pubic hair comes first). However, some normal girls will get their first periods less than a year or more than 3 years after the first sign of puberty.

We have to look at average age here of puberty.
Aburaees wrote:For most Christians "Sinn al-Buluugh" represents the appropriate age for marriage, though I have yet to see a scriptural basis for this reasoning.
Per western modern Christianity as in regards to the most. Not most of Christianity in the times of Jesus (a.s.) to the times of Muhammad (s.a.w.) and untill about 200 years ago.
Many Christians married at such ages to the like of Aisha . The age of consent in this country (America), when they married, starting at the age of nine witht he average which was perfectly legal until as time passed the consent laws changed.
H2O wrote:Don't worry, I haven't forgotten your point that other Hadiths suggest she was older.
Is it possible that those Hadiths were confused about the dates associated with Aisha's birth and marriage?
And wouldn't Aisha know the date of her own marriage better than anybody else?
The Hadeeths on the dating are by different people out weighing the report. If your in a court of law, they jurry goes by the majority report on evidence not the minority or one person in this manner. Please remember hadeeth is based on "hear say" whereas the transmission is subject to modifcations.
Aburaees wrote:Are there any Hadiths that confirm that a girl only becomes a woman under the law when she has reached a certain age, i.e. "Sinn al-buluugh" or "Sinn al-Muraahaqah"?
I would have to specifically look this up. As far as I know from the study of world theology it was a widely accepted pratice and traditional law.
