Peace OneGod,
I can understand that you may not have heard of that sect of Islam. There is another interesting understanding from Afganistan, which I have posted for Lady Fatima to read in the thread on the virgin birth of Jesus. ( or maybe it's in the sin and forgiveness thread.. sorry, they are all blending together these days as themes are overlapping ).
Please have a read and let me know your thoughts. I am not so much wanting to point out the differences in Islamic understanding of these key doctrines of life, death and judgement (for we all know there are so called Christian groups which differ greatly from the normal mainstream christian teaching), as to show you and explore with you, that the Qur'anic verses are open to different interpretations. Because of the Hadiths, traditions and sects which do exist, and the teachings and individual interpretations of each.. how can a Muslim be sure that his/her way of reading the Qur'an is true?
Somewhere in my reading I have read that Islam relies on the scholars to explain the meaning of the Qur'an. Certainly this seems to be the case, particularly as the reliable text is in Arabic, which many Muslims would not speak or understand.
Can you tell me your understanding of the expectation for Muslims who follow one of these other ideas of the character of Allah.. that is, that He preprogrammes you for evil or for good. If its not mainstream thinking, is there a consequence within Islam for believing and propogating such teaching?
My appreciation for your reply
Peace
Carol
