ArchivedChristadelphianismThis article, of course, is a secondary source. It is an interpretation of the Glendale constitution rather than an exact quote of it. Therefore, naturally it is certainly capable of containing errors in the interpretation of what we believe. Hmm. You're correct up to a point. Although John Thomas knew the founder of the JW's, you would be wrong to say they are the parent group of them. He said that there had been apostacy, but he never said you had to follow his interpretation in order to understand scripture. Rather, he recognised many had believed what he did in part over the last 2000 years and also told people to study the scriptures for themself to understand truth, rather than listening to the "ECF's" and "presbyters" who are treated as "infallible" by those who follow in the same way as them. False. Anyone can be saved who believes true doctrine. Absolutely correct. Umm. Yes, Christadelphians believe that he is in fact an "it" or "entity" rather than a person. However, we believe that the spirit does indwell the believer via the reading of the spirit inspired scriptures. No, Christadelphians believe he was born sinless. We do not believe in the doctrine of original sin and therefore do no believe Jesus was born a sinner as you claim we do. No-one can ever achieve sinless perfection, but we must strive to achieve this. Yes, this is known as God Manifestation - replicating the character our father desires by following the example of Jesus Christ. Correct. Correct. Life after death comes when those who are worthy are resurrected and granted a place in the kingdom of God. Correct. This is a Biblical principle. False. We claim he was a human being, like us in any way, yet without sin. Remember, we dont believe in original sin and therefore believe he was born sinless. He is our saviour, he atones for sins and he was our representative. Correct. Just like Justin Martyr and many others believed. We believe the devil and Satan to be names for sin and evil men or groups of men. We do not believe in fallen angels. We believe demons were false Gods and therefore do not exist. Correct. These are scriptural principles. False. Plenty of people are members of other clubs. However, many Christadelphians would simply not want to be part of the Catholic run scouts club, when there are Youth Circles and Sunday Schools run by us for the younger members. But in the end, it's all personal choice. Belief in false doctrine is grounds for disfellowship and in almost all ecclesias, so is marriage outside. The latter however is not true of every ecclesia as far as I know. It is a simple interview, not a "thorough interrogation". Theres plenty of formal training which takes place after baptism, including teaching on how to study scripture and guidance on how to present talks to the ecclesia. Plus, theres private study and Bible Class's where someone presents a scriptural based talk. Correct. These are scriptural principles. I have no idea what you are you talking about here. I have not heard of any Christadelphians being dogmatic about what health care we should and shouldnt receive. *Sigh*. |
