Science, Creation & EvolutionDo all have faith? :: Bad proofBad proof Well, not exactly. Science is more of an observation. The conclusions drawn from such observations are the theories. Science does not attempt to prove, disprove, or explain anything. It is simply a series of observations. Those that attempt to prove or disprove something use science, but the explanations are not science themselves. Sorry, its a very minor point, but a point that has always bothered me. When people try and debunk science, its akin to debunking eyesight. Your really trying to debunk the theories involved. Also, this comparison in faith is hardly fair. The faith of a scientist is a much smaller leap than a religious one. The faith that I am not falling off the earth is much more acceptable than the belief in an omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent creator. So basically your saying that proof is public opinion. Thats a teribble standard. Public opinion changes all the time, that doesn't mean that the facts do. If what you are saying is true, then a few hundred years ago it was proven that the sun revolved around the earth, as it was "something general which all man will agree on" If we move back even further, then it was proven that Zeus was a supreme ruler of gods and men alike. Proof is completely unrelated to human conception. Opinion makes no impact upon facts. This is not a subjective reality. |
