Alpha,
Whilst I agree with you on some instances, I agree with mike and his mail. Yes, we are called to be salt and light in a world where God's truth is hidden and even deliberately ignored, but we are also called by God to "Speak the truth in love." (Ephesians 4:15). 1 Corinthians 13:1 also reminds us that unless love pervades everything we say, we may as well be resounding gongs or clanging cymbals.
Yes, Jesus was very quick to act in rightous anger.. but notice who he addressed the anger at in the temple. Was it the ordinary worshippers? No, it was the religious leaders, the pharisees, priests, rabbis etc who had turned the Temple into a Den of Thieves. It was for righteousness sake, but it was not addressed at unbelievers, but at believers.
Jesus always spoke to people and told them where they were wrong in their understanding, but never once did he address righteous anger at the ordinary misguided and blinded unbeliever.. always it was at those who because they were in the truth, should have known better by their actions. Should we do anything less?
Speak the truth.. that's why we all are in this forum as Christians, but do it in love and in the same spirit as our Lord, who wept over the unbelief of Jerusalem in Luke 13:34 and in the spirit of paul who in Acts 10, wept for his brother Jews "For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge."
Constantly, Acts refers to Paul and the apostles "reasoning" with and using the belief systems of the religious Jews and God fearing Greeks they spoke to to proclaim the Gospel. (Acts 17)
And, well, I had the same thought as Mike did to be honest Alpha. Your post, even if it did not mean to sound disrespectful certainly seemed more intent on supporting your own view, than answering OMYA's many questions.
